New Features Coming in 2015r2 Release!

Andrea Fowles -

Preview of Version 2015r2: See some of the highlighted new features available with the upcoming release!

HTML DASHBOARD

With Version 2015r2, we complete the dashboard migration from Silverlight to HTML5.  By default, all users will see their previous dashboard tabs, frames, etc deployed with the new HTML5 interface.  This dashboard interface provides a cleaner, faster, and more robust interface to improve the Lucity web experience.

AVAILABLE VIEW MENU

The previous access to the modules, menu, favorites, etc, have been combined into one view menu.  New features available include access to your most recently accessed modules and a search feature.

FAVORITES INCLUDE FILTERS

Another new feature available to users it the ability to save new "Favorite" views that include filters, and provide custom descriptions for these favorites.

MODULE TREE HIERARCHY

The module tree hierarchy has been changed to display all related modules below that asset item (e.g., inventory and inspections for Pavement Markings are both under the asset instead of being selected from either inventory or inspection lists).

*NEW* INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM ASSETS

New asset types have been added for ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) that allows the management of ITS assets, such as Anti-Icing Equipment, Cameras, Sensors, etc.

*NEW* STORM WATER QUALITY PROGRAM MODULES

New modules for managing storm water quality have been developed, including plan summaries, inspections and violation and enforcement tracking.

*NEW* INSTALL TIRES INTERFACE

There is a new graphical interface for installing tire assets in Fleet management.

*NEW* TIMESHEET

Besides the dashboard, we are moving other components of the web over to HTML5 as well.  This includes Timesheets.

*NEW* WORK SCHEDULER

All new for 2015r2 is the Lucity Work Scheduler tool.  This tool will let you plan work using a calender tool.

USER SETTINGS INTERFACE

A new interface for managing user passwords, settings, etc. has been developed within the new user dashboard.

MANAGING DASHBOARDS WITH WYSIWYG

Users with permissions to edit their own dashboards, as well as administrators, can now manage their dashboards FROM their dashboard!  This uses WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) to allow users to create tabs, frames and drill-downs on the fly.  You can see all the changes immediately to your dashboard, as well as re-order and drag and drop to move items around.

Here are a few screenshots showing the process:

*NEW* SHARED TAB GROUPS

As well as adding and editing tabs & shared tabs, you can now create Shared Tab Groups.  This replaces the previous Template functionality.  You can create a group of shared tabs, assign users to a group, and manage the members, groups and tabs all directly from the dashboard.

PASSWORD SECURITY IMPROVEMENTS

With the 2015r2 comes the addition of new available password security features.  This includes the optionally enforced settings: password complexity enforcement, password expirations, and notifications ahead of password expirations.

FIX IT BUTTON IN DATA QUALITY SERVICES TOOL

The Data Quality Services tool now features code that will actually "Fix" data issues based on some of the available queries.  For example, updating last inspection dates, clearing orphaned records, etc.

DATABASE CONSOLIDATION

One of the biggest changes to Lucity in 2015r2 is the long-awaited database consolidation from 10+ databases to just 1 single database. The consolidation process can be done when you upgrade to 2015r2, or at any later time prior to upgrading to the next release (2016). We will be providing a migration wizard for the process, as well as detailed instructions and audit reports to make sure your consolidation process goes smoothly. As always, Lucity Support Staff will be on hand to provide answers or assistance with any questions or concerns you have about this process.

    Hey Ginger,

You can mark individual users to have their passwords never expire in the Security program.
